The work
What you'll do
- Generate your own pipeline of merchants in PayKings' target industries
- Travel frequently to trade shows, industry conferences, and in-person merchant meetings
- Run the sales cycle from first conversation through application and approval
- Build relationships with business owners, industry associations, and referral sources in each vertical
- Work with underwriting and operations to place and board new merchants
- Track prospects, meetings, and deals in the CRM
- Share what you learn in the field about each vertical with the sales team
The fit
What you'll bring
Required
- B2B sales or business development experience, ideally in payments or fintech
- A record of generating your own leads and closing them
- Willingness to travel heavily, including overnight and weekend trade show travel
- Confidence meeting business owners in person and representing the company at events
- Self-directed, organized, and accountable to your own numbers
Nice to have
- Experience selling merchant accounts or payment processing
- Existing relationships in high-risk industries such as CBD, nutraceuticals, travel, or firearms
- Trade show and event selling experience
