The work
What you'll do
- Lead the operations, boarding, and support teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance
- Own the merchant lifecycle from application through underwriting, boarding, and post-boarding support
- Coordinate with acquiring bank and processor partners on underwriting, approvals, and escalations
- Oversee risk and chargeback monitoring processes across the merchant portfolio
- Set operational metrics and report on them to leadership
- Build and document processes that scale as merchant volume grows
- Maintain compliance with card brand rules and PCI-DSS requirements in operational workflows
- Partner with sales so new merchants are placed and boarded without friction

What you'll bring
Required
- Senior operations leadership experience in payments, merchant services, or fintech
- Working knowledge of merchant underwriting, boarding, and acquiring bank relationships
- A track record of building teams and the processes they run on
- Comfort with metrics, reporting, and making decisions from data
- Clear communication with executives, bank partners, and merchants alike
Nice to have
- High-risk merchant account experience
- Chargeback management and risk monitoring experience
- Familiarity with CRM and payment gateway platforms
